Either make it or fake it

We follow the popular phrase “fake it till you make it” in our life journey. When we are not sure about our goal we pretend as if we have already achieved the goal. The pseudo experience of faking prompts us towards actual goal achievement. Popular belief supports this theory. How relevant is this theory in our growth journey? Is it a trap or support to our progress?

When we pretend achievement we don’t do any actual work. Pretending brave can’t actually make people brave. We go into our imagination and enjoy the feeling of being brave. When asked about the experience, 90% people give positive feedback. How long we can feel happy by pretending brave and by not actually being brave? Is faking creating a ‘mask’? Are you getting intoxicated by the praise due to your faking? We like brave people. Can we differentiate between real and fake?
Sometimes we get addicted to faking. We forget our actual goal. We adopt the mask as our identity. We pretend dictator in office to grab power and we spoil relationships in family! We adopt the mask!
May be we need to explore within ourselves. What would be the right mix? How long is not too long? Triggering imagination of achievement or using a mask? One day we have to take a pause and ask ” Enough is enough. Either I shall make it or I shall never fake it. What first step may I take to reach my goal?”
What time is the right time to stop faking and start living?

Stay curious.
