Knowing the unknown

How prepared we are to know the unknown? Confucius said ‘Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance’. Realization of our ignorance prompts us to our individual growth journey. Every one of us starts our journey from what we know to what we don’t know. Our pursuit of the unknown starts with the known. It goes on and goes on till we live our life. What happens when we know the unknown?

Are we ready to know the unknown? One of my colleague said ‘when I knew existence of  the unknown my life, I remained unhappy and eager to know the unknown. And then I started toiling to know the unknown. Ultimately I have acquired the knowledge of that unknown. Now I am heart broken by knowing the unknown!’ It may not happen to everybody, but what about those people who fail to adjust with the known unknown?  How can we gather courage and keep our mind open to accept the new knowledge?
Some people are so afraid of knowing the unknown that they create boundaries around them. They call it ‘conservatism’. Life goes on and they try to remain static. They stop knowing the unknown in the name of conservatism. Do they succeed? Explosion happens. It comes through many people, through their realization. Revolution happens and we all get realigned to the new known, be it pleasant or painful.
Truth is not always pleasant, more like going through darkness of a tunnel to reach to brightness. Initial encounter with truth may not be pleasant always, till we grow up to the eternal level and align with the power of new found truth.

How do we know our extent of power to know the unknown?  How do live our life with newer and newer knowledge?

Keep exploring life
