Remember to learn to remember

Shall we remember Peshawar school? Will it remain as one another saddest memory in our mind? Shall we remember it as a nightmare and keep on telling ourselves that it will never happen again? How can we remember the indiscriminate killing of innocent school kids as learning for next few decades? How can we remember to learn from this unfortunate and devastating experience?
Our brain remembers events with chronological order and with tag attached to each and every event. What tag shall we attach with the terrorist activities like Peshawar devastation? Social media got flooded with thousands and thousands of posts expressing anger, frustration, shock etc. We all know that intensity of expression goes milder and milder every day. Ultimately after few hours year 2014 will go and we shall welcome New Year 2015. Peshawar devastation will be lost in our memory. Let us exclude the people who are directly impacted by the devastation. The irreparable loss made them traumatized. Let us also exclude the people who initiated the indiscriminate killing. What about the other people in the world? What is our learning? Will it change course of our future life and living?
May be passive memory will not give us any constructive prompt. Malala’s Noble Prize and Peshawar devastation both happened in 2014. Do these tell us anything significant? How can we transform our passive memory into active memory?
Newspaper reported that US drone strikes killed seven terrorists responsible for Peshawar killing. Will this news create any long term confidence in our mind? If there is terrorism, if there is ruthless killing of innocent people every now and then in the World, how can we assure that there will be end of it? We have observed in India. Terrorist attacks happened in different form and perspective. Bomb blast in Mumbai or killing in Taj Hotel or killing in Assam – each one has different name, location, date etc. Are these really different?
Who are those people in the terrorist group? Do they suffering from a common disease? Where do they come from? Do they have family?
How can we go beyond the limitation of our thinking? How can we contribute to change the world?
Keep exploring life
